In small islands or developing countries and rural areas, where grid access is limited or even impossible, off-grid solar energy has become an increasingly popular energy solution. However, there are many technical challenges that hinder the development of the market. In order to simplify things, Growatt introduced the second-generation off-grid inverter SPF 3000T HVM-G2, which can be combined with Growatt's wide range of lithium battery and monitoring solutions.

The SPF 3000T HVM-G2 inverter consists of a built-in MPPT charge controller, an AC charger and an inverter with a low-frequency transformer. It can provide surge power three times the rated power to support motor-type loads or inductive loads. The SPF 3000T HVM-G2 inverter also supports power input from multiple sources such as generators, solar energy, storage batteries, and power grids. Owners can use electricity from the grid and photovoltaic systems to power household loads. The inverter comes with a five-year product warranty as standard.

The inverter can work with or without batteries and is compatible with mainstream lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, including Growatt’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. In addition, it is also designed with battery low-voltage disconnection protection. When the battery voltage drops, it will first disconnect the non-critical load from the system to extend the backup time of the critical load.

The SPF 3000T HVM-G2 inverter has an efficiency of up to 95% and low energy loss, and the power consumption is only 9W in the power saving mode. The inverter also has a bypass function, allowing users to bypass the normal operation of the inverter and use power from the grid. Since the solar input voltage is as high as 250V, it makes installation easier and reduces the cost of BoS. For single-phase or three-phase systems, up to 6 inverters can be connected in parallel to expand the power capacity to 18 kW.

There are plenty of video interviews and other content on our YouTube page. Recently we launched Power Forward! - Cooperate with BayWare to discuss higher-level industry topics and best practices/trends for operating solar business today. Our longer-running side project is The Pitch-we have awkward discussions with solar manufacturers and suppliers about their new technologies and ideas so you don't have to. We discussed everything from residential trackless deck connections and home solar financing to large-scale energy storage value stacking and utility-driven new home solar + storage microgrids. We also posted our annual project announcement there! Interviews with this year’s winners will begin in the week of November 8. Go there today and subscribe to learn about all this extra content.
